violists, cellists and double bass players using the principles of the Suzuki
method since 1986. The SSSPI is a registered charitable non-profit corporation overseen by a board of

The Suzuki Method
In the first half of the twentieth century the Japanese violinist and teacher
Dr. Shinichi Suzuki developed a method of teaching very young children to play
the violin. This method was later successfully adapted to learning many other
instruments as well. Dr. Suzuki realized that all children show their capacity
by speaking and understanding their native language. The Suzuki method applies
the principles by which children learn language from their parents to the
learning of an instrument - with great success!
